Working on The Lorax Quilt
I have been working on a quilt using the Dr Seuss "The Lorax" fabric. It is coming along nicely and will be donated to an upcoming raffle. The center panels are offset with other patterns from the Dr Seuss line. I then Free Motion Quilted swirls and leaves around these pages from the book. The inner borders, done in a blue dot, orange and green/blue print have all been quilted with giant leaves.
The next step was a lot of fun. I stitched a series of trees on each outer panel and then fabric painted in color over the threads. One panel represents summer, one is spring, one is fall and one is winter. The above is "summer".
Here is a closeup of a portion of "Fall".
